Earl E. Savage, age 84, beloved husband of Sally Alves Savage, of Fairfield,
passed away on June 21, 2017.
In addition to Sally, his devoted wife of 56 years, Earl's memory will

Nicole Savage, Jennell and Michael Todd, John and Kristin Papadopoulos;
great grandchild, Leilani Khongmany; sister-in-law, Connie Perkins and
her husband Glenn, of Waterbury; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and

Born in Blaine, Maine, he was the son of the late Charles and Clara Thompkins
Savage. Earl lived in Portland, Maine, moving first to Bridgeport before
settling in Fairfield 62 years ago.
A talented machinist, he worked for Underwood Corporation, W.S. Rockwell
Industry, Bassick Company, and General Electric Company before retiring
as an inspector for E.I. DuPont Company in Newtown. He also worked briefly
as a delivery man for Borden Dairy.
A devout Catholic, Earl had been a longtime member of Holy Family Church
and more recent member of Saint Thomas Church. He was a Fourth Degree
Member of the Knights of Columbus who served over the years as the Father
Coleman's Council 2616 Grand Knight, Treasurer, Chancellor, and the Building
Committee Treasurer, as well as, Past Faithful Navigator for the Monsignor
Blake Assembly 118. He was also a member of the Gaelic American Club,
Ancient Order of Hibernian's JFK Division, Sikorsky Retiree and Friendship
Club, DuPont's company bowling league in Monroe, and an avid Boston Red
Sox fan. As a real classic car enthusiast and proud owner of a fully restored
1966 Ford Mustang, Earl enjoyed participating in local and regional classic
car shows and cruises organized by CHAS (Connecticut Historical Automobile
Society) and the Connecticut Seaport Car Club. An outdoors man, he took
great pleasure spending time with his family and friends while camping,
hunting, and fishing. A kind friendly person, Earl will be remembered
fondly by the many people he touched throughout his fruitful life.
